Working through it step by step

Turn the unit off first and let it sit 20 minutes. Working around a running head is annoying and you can't judge the drain while it's actively making water.

Open the front cover and pull the mesh filters. If they're gray with dust, rinse them under the tap, shake them off, and set them somewhere to dry fully. Wet filters put back in cause more problems.

While the cover's open, look at the coil. Any frost or ice means you've got a freezing problem, not just a drain clog. Shut it down and let it thaw completely before doing anything else.

Now go outside and find the drain line. It's the thin white or clear hose that comes out of the wall near where the copper line set penetrates, usually pointed down at the ground.
